As the year stretches into championship season, runners are making final moves to put themselves at the top.
The No. 1 name in the NXR Northeast Region is Notre Dame commit Drew Griffith of Butler High in Pennsylvania.
Rounding up his fifth win of the season, the senior clocked a new personal best of 14:21 at the MileStat Invitational in Virginia, winning by 22 seconds.
Another Fighting Irish commit, Ryan Pajak of Ringgold, owns the second-fastest time in the region with a performance of 14:40.51.
Also collecting another first place title--his fourth this season--Pajak won the Mingo Classic last Thursday in Monongahela. He held a lead of over 30 seconds.
