Manny Putz, Wayzata Boys Roll At Rochester Mayo
- - -
The boys varsity race was the one to watch on Thursday at the Rochester Mayo Invitational.
There, two pointed results went down.
The first was by virtue of Manny Putz. The Wisconsin standout and Onalaska junior looks as good as ever following nearly eight months off from achilles tendinitis and won the boys race in 15:52.25. He was 12 seconds faster than the next-fastest competitor.
The Wayzata boys, meanwhile, went 2-3-4 and were led by Will Weber, who posted a time of 16:04 as the Trojans scored 29 points.
Wayzata, the No. 7 team in the MileSplit50 preseason rankings, has posted two wins to begin its season.
