Analysis: Which team has always been in the mix? Look no further than Minnetonka.
From the Heartland Region, Minnetonka is one of the top returning teams from this region. The squad was the runner up behind Wayzata at the state championship. Minnetonka will return its top five runners from the states, including the rising freshman Evie Malec, who finished sixth overall.
Later on in the season, Minnetonka finished third at NXR regionals with an 18:38 average.
Despite graduating one senior from last year's team, Minnetonka is a top contender for a state title and can potentially grab a spot to compete at nationals this fall.
