Tula Fawbush's season opener couldn't get much better than her performance from the Central Kentucky Run For The Gold.

The Oldham County (KY) senior began her 2023 cross country season with a lifetime best for 5K with a 17:32. Fawbush became the second girl in meet hisotry to break 18 minutes for 5K on the Elizabethtown Sports Park course while she won the title by 45 seconds. 

During the week, Fawbush became this week's National Girls Performer Of The Week by earning 41 percent of the votes. 

It's time to vote for this week's NPOTW. The poll will end on Friday and winners will be announced the following Monday.

Here are the nominations for the Nationals Girls Performer Of The Week:

Elizabeth Leachman, Boerne Champion (TX): The sophomore ran one of the fastest times in the nation this fall at the Westlake Chaparral Invitational. While earning the highest speed rating so far this season with a 156, Leachman clocked a 16:34.10 for 5K to win the title by nearly 90 seconds. 

Madison Peters, Pearland (TX): The senior from Pearland, Texas won the Southlake XC Invite with a 16:45 5K performance and earned a 140 speed rating for her efforts. 

Sydney Drevlow, Hopkins (MN): At Arvig Park in Perham, Minnesota, Drevlow won the Perham "Brave Like Gaby" Early Bird meet with a 17:35 performance for 5K. 

Rachel Forsyth, Ann Arbor Pioneer (MI): The Michigan standout set a new lifetime 5K best at the Benzie Pete Moss Invite. Back in 2021, Forysth clocked a 17:45 on the 5K course in Benzonia. Over the weekend, Forsyth won the title in 17:09 and earned a 144 speed rating. 

Emily Cohen, Cherry Creek (CO): As a sophomore, Cohen led Cherry Creek to a team title over Arapahoe and Regis Jesuit at the Cherry Creek Steve Lohman Invitational. Cohen won the title by 15 seconds with a 17:30 performance for 5K. 


NPOTW Week 1:
