Analysis: It's was an exciting cross country season for Hagen in 2022. As a sophomore, she put herself out there and finished second at the Liberty Bell Invitational early in the year. She continued to earn top-place finishes on the cross country course, which included a Colorado 4A state title.
When she lined up against the national competition, she finished seventh at the NXR Southwest Regional Championships and was 25th overall at NXN.
When the spring season arrived, she was able to clock personal bests of 2:16 for 800m, 4:54 in the 1,600m and 10:13 in the 3,200m. She earned another state title in the 1,600m and was the runner up in the 3,200m.
