Analysis: Winning isn't everything, especially in the case of Jourdon.
While the rising senior from Salt Lake City Olympus High School did not win a single meet last year, it was how he finished that was most impressive. He finished no less than fifth in every single one of his competitions, including the Garmin RunningLane XC Championships, where he finished third in 15:12.20 to finish on the podium as an All-American. He also was fourth in his Class 5A state championships and second at divisions.
Outdoors, Jourdon ran 52.34 for 400m, 1:55.55 for 800m, 4:06.67 for 1,600m and 8:46.87 for 3,200m. Jourdon may be an underrated athlete capable of competing for a national title in 2023.
