The Nation's Top YOY Boys Improvement In The 400m-800m

Andrew Regnier only ran the 800m once last outdoor season. 

While he added the distance to his repertoire in 2023, it hasn't necessarily been his hallmark race.

After a big PR to open the season at 1:49.35 at the Arcadia Invitational, he coasted through statewide races in Wisconsin, capturing a series of solid performances in 1:55.00, 1:55.14 and 1:56.91. 

But last Wednesday, he unleashed. The Waunakee High School senior and University of North Carolina signee dropped eight seconds from his best last year with his performance of 1:48.49 at Brooks PR, swinging over to third overall in the national invitational. 

He's among the top athletes around the country who have improved at the distance dramatically from 2022 to 2023.
