This season has been like no other. Personal bests and all-time marks were dropped left and right throughout the year.
Within the last year, just about 2,100 girls set new personal bests in the 400m and in the 800m.
In the girls 400m, there were eight girls who improved by over five seconds, including the junior Emma Santoro of Rockwall (TX). She dropped nearly six seconds in a year from 62 to 56.62 seconds.
When it comes to the two lap race, Olivia Friedrich of Henry M. Jackson (WA) shaved nearly 75 seconds in a year. 200 girls dropped over 15 seconds in the 800m since 2022.
Which other athletes have made significant strides in the 400m and in the mid-distant event?
