Another week, another record for Serra-Gardena (CA) sprint superstar Rodrick Pleasant.

Last week, it was the all-conditions 100m state record that Pleasant snatched with a 10.09 (+3.3) winning effort at the CIF Southern Section Division 4 Finals.

But on Saturday, he captured the wind-legal California 100m all-time best with a 10.14 (+1.3) performance at the Masters championships, grabbing yet another event title in the process.

That ties his own state record set at last year's Southern Section Masters meet, only this time the wind was was not as as strong as it was for his 2022 effort. 10.14 for Pleasant as a junior came with a +1.7 tailwind.

The University of Oregon now sits at US No. 2 among wind-legal 100m marks this season and is tied with Maurice Gleaton out of Langston Hughes (GA), who also registered the same time in the prelims of the Georgia Class 6A State Championships last weekend.

And Pleasant wasn't the only athlete in the field to make history. Runner-up Jordan Washington of Jordan also tied his own CA No. 2 all-time mark of 10.24 (+1.3), a mark that he also recorded at the CIF Southern Section D1 finals just last weekend with a +1.6 wind.

Following up his 100m performance later in the afternoon, Pleasant dropped 20.71 (+1.5) to snag first place, just ahead of Washington yet again who would run 20.81 (+1.5).
