The first installment of the RunningLane Track Championships brought some intense racing.
Take the high school boys 800m, for instance.
It featured a selection of the nation's top half-milers, including Will Sumner -- who would go on to break two indoor national records over his senior season -- and Alex Leath, a sophomore from Vestavia Hills who two years later would run 1:48 indoors. But the favorite entering the race was Brayden Packard, an American Fork senior who was aiming for a sub-1:50 time.
The finish?
A handful of moves were made, the finish was wild and let's just say -- if you didn't see (or haven't seen) the race live -- you might not guess how it ends.
