Which one was more impressive?
The 22.81 or the 52.49?
For Madison Whyte, the highly-rated sprint recruit headed to the University of Southern California next fall, both will suffice after she scooped up two wins in star-studded affairs on Saturday at the Puma presents the East Coast Showcase at the P.G. Sports Complex in Landover, Maryland.
In her 400m win, which found the Newport New Heritage senior knocking off Jamaican-star Rickiann Russell by five-hundredths of a second, Whyte put down a new U.S. No. 3 time in 52.49. This time is also a Virginia State record breaking Lauryn Ghee's 22.97 clocking from 2016.

A total of eight girls went under 55 seconds, with Hydel's Abigail Campbell going 53.30, Georgia native Tyler Lowe clocking a 53.39 and Bullis School's Sydney Sutton and Sage Hinton posting times of 54.35 and 54.37.
Not long after, Whyte clocked another massive move, winning the 200m in 22.81 over McDonogh's Elise Cooper (22.93), Sutton (23.29), Friends' Central's Avery Lewis (23.40), Lowe (23.56) and Bullis School's Mirai Bernard (23.67). A total of nine girls went under 24 seconds.
Take either.
If reputation comes from winning five-star races, Whyte will walk home with 10 after Saturday's performance.
