The conditions were far from ideal.
It was raining and windy for much of the weekend at The Penn Relays, one of the premier outdoor track meets in the U.S.
Still, that did not stop the athletes from competing and putting up some impressive performances on the track at Franklin Field.
Below, we look at five girls (in alphabetical order) who excelled at the meet and raised their profiles among college recruiters. We only included freshmen, sophomores and juniors because nearly all seniors have committed to colleges.
We also did not include eighth-grader Sophia Rodriguez of Dallastown, Pennsylvania, because she has yet to enter high school.
