Florida Athletes Are In The Thick Of Qualifying Season

A total of 30 District Championships took place this week in Florida, and an array of athletes got out to fast starts, big times and top performances.
Notably, though, Florida athletes excelled in the sprints.
Pine Forest's D'antonio Warren ran the top wind-legal 100m of the weekend in 10.55 (+0.4) at the FHSAA Class 3A District 1 meet.
Montverde Academy's Jayvian Greene, a junior, secured the best wind-legal 200m in 21.12 (+0.4) at the FHSAA Class 2A District 7 meet, and added a time of 46.59 in the 400m, the second-best effort of the weekend, only behind Aidan Dixon's 46.50, who defeated him.
Jade Brown, a senior from Taravella (FL), ran 11.53 (+0.4) in the 100m at the Class 4A District 13 meet.
Olympia's Nauti'ka Robinson, meanwhile, connected fro a top time of 24.36 (+0.4) at the FHSAA Class 4A District 9 meet. Alivia Williams of Montverde ran 24.55 elsewhere.
And Bishop Kenny's (FL) Ka'Myya Haywood, one of the country's top 800m athletes, ran 54.68 for 400m, sixth-best on the weekend. Skyler Watts ran 54.91 to finish second behind Haywood.
