Kaylyn Brown and Shawnti Jackson have known each other for years, dating back to their days running in local and national meets as middle schoolers.
They even were teammates for one summer during high school with Run U Express, a club team that Jackson's parents founded.
This fall, they will be reunited again at the University of Arkansas. Brown, a senior at Mallard Creek (NC) High School, recently committed to the Razorbacks, a few months after Jackson, a senior at South Granville (NC) High School, signed with the school.
"That's really cool," Brown said of being teammates with Jackson in college. "(Jackson) is a great athlete. I really think we'll be able to push each other on the team and support each other. It's a really nice feeling to have your friend and somebody that you already know going there, as well."
