Indoor Season Concludes At Wisconsin Indoor State Meet

It may be April, but it's still indoor season in Wisconsin.

Athletes across the state took to the indoor oval at UW Whitewater on Saturday in the final indoor track and field championships of the 2023 season.

Some of the state's top competitors earned the first indoor titles of their careers. That list includes Delea Martins, won took the girls 400m in 57.24, and JJ Williams, who earned the boys 800m crown in 1:57.89.

Others continued their indoor success following efforts at New Balance Nationals Indoor last month, such as girls 60m Lola Kolawoole and pole vault champion Eliza Aitken. Kolawoole set a new meet record of 7.53, as well as Aitken with a 13-2 clearance.

Girls 1,600m winner Eliza Pfarr -- just a freshman representing Home School Eagles -- also set an impressive meet record with her winning effort of 4:58.26.
