The Florida Relays Were Devastatingly Fast
- - -
Florida knows fast.
And it didn't take much to notice it.
From the all-time-level girls 4x100, which saw Bullis clock one of the fastest times in history, to a devastatingly fast relay from the Montverde Academy girls in the 4x400, some of the nation's top marks went down.
Montverde's girls went 3:37.28, which was seven all-time. Bullis, which beat Montverde in the 4x100, was second this time in 3:37.98. It was No. 11 all-time.
This name certainly sounds familiar: Montverde Academy's Issam Asinga put down a wind-legal 100m time of 10.10 seconds. It was the sixth-fastest mark on record.
What's crazy, though, is that junior Christian Miller finished second in 10.22 seconds. That was a U.S. No. 2 mark.
Florida's Micahi Danzy took center stage in the 400m, clocking a top time of 46.21 seconds.
Shorewood's Nathan Cumberbatch, a slight underdog to Hagerty's Miguel Pantojas in the 800m, earned a signature win himself with a time of 1:50.33. The Wisconsin prep made a move on Pantojas in the final 100 meters.
