The
best meet performance belongs to Karimah Davis of Palm Beach Central (FL), who
pulled off the difficult 200m-400m double in 2017, earning meet-record
times. She opened the meet by blazing to a time of 53.87 in the 400m. It was
nearly two seconds ahead of the runner-up and over a second faster than Abby
Hani's previous meet record of 54.97. In the 200m, Davis and Palatka (FL) High's
KaTia Seymour pushed each other to post the top two times in meet history, with
Davis winning in 23.38.
Currently, Davis
is in her final year of eligibility at Kentucky after transferring from Florida
State. She has earned numerous All-America awards in her career.
