A supremely talented Hydel High School girls squad was out for records last year at The Penn Relays presented by Toyota.
And in the Championship of Americas girls 4x400, the Jamaican program from Kingston ran away with it almost from the start, using four strong legs to upend challengers like Edwin Allen (JAM), Bullis School (MD) and Holmwood Technical (JAM).
In the end, the Hydel girls secured a new COA meet record in a time of 3:32.77, using a 51.42 anchor split to surpass the team's former record of 3:33.99, which the team set back in 2017.
In fact, Hydel's girls program now has three of the event's top 10 performances in history, also coming in at No. 7 with a time of 3:36.38 from 2018.
The Hydel girls, no doubt, are a team that is turning into a 4x400 powerhouse.
