At the Florida Indoor Championships in Gainesville, a new name got added to the U.S. leaderboard in the 400m.
Aidan Dixon had himself a race.
The South Florida signee, who ran a nation-leading 46.99 seconds, led the pack from start to finish and dipped under 47 seconds. He became the first boy this indoor season to conquer the feat.
The Port Orange Atlantic (FL) senior improved on his No. 3 all-time Florida performance of 47.21 at the Florida/Georgia Challenge and moved up to U.S. No. 20 all-time.
Elsewhere, freshman J'Nia Simpson of Trailblazers Youth Athletic Ministry (FL) set a season best and now ranks among the top of the freshmen class with her winning throw of 42-11.25.
Kyle Johnson of Montverde Academy (FL) also captured the second-best triple jump of his season, earning a mark of 47-11.25. He previously recorded a mark of 48-6.
