Progression has been the highlight for many girls distance athletes across the country this indoor season.

Around 100 girls each in the indoor 3k, 3,200m, and 2-mile events have shown improvement from their best performances in 2022, and we analyze those top year-over-year progressions.

For many athletes, the improvement has been noteworthy. 3k year-over-year progression leader Bailey Hall of Pennsbury (PA) has shaved well over a minute off her best from last season to clock an impressive 9:56.74 this season. 

Top 2-mile improver Kallie Warner of Bonny Eagle (ME) has taken a solid minute and a half off her 2022 PR, and Our Lady of Good Counsel's (MD) Leah Stephens leads the nation in 3,200m progression with a 55-second improvement from last year.
