Looking at the numbers, it's evident that girls have set the bar higher -- quite literally -- in the pole vault around the country.

In 2023, we've already seen the first girl in indoor or outdoor history clear over 15 feet -- Amanda Moll, reaching 15-1 at the National Pole Vault Summit in early January. Her sister, Hana Moll, also surpassed the previous national indoor record of 14-10 at the same meet.

Currently, four athletes have season bests of 14-0 or higher, and we're still weeks away from indoor national championship competition.

Compared to marks from a decade ago in 2013, that's a significant progression for the event that has now become one of the most competitive track and field disciplines in the country at the high school level.
