Mondo Elite HS Invitational: Results

The 'girls of Cuthbertson' is becoming a familiar refrain.
And for good reason.
On Saturday at the Mondo Elite HS Invitational, the girls of North Carolina's top distance program all went under three minutes for 1,000 meters, registering the top three places and times as Alyssa Preisano (2:53.45), Stella Kermes (2:53.99) and Justine Preisano (2:55.56) came into the finish line.
Already, two of those girls -- Stella Kermes (No. 3) and Alyssa Preisano (No. 5) -- were among the nation's leaders at the distance. Another, Charlotte Bell (No. 2), ran the mile and posted a time of 4:49.80.
But that was just the tip of the iceberg from the Mondo Elite Invite.
In the girls mile, Virginia-bsed Allie Zealand flew off the charts, registering a U.S. No. 3 time of 4:46.65. That is just outside the top 50 performances of all-time, landing at No. 51.
Coastal Christian's (NC) Hannah Grace, a sophomore, landed a U.S. No. 19 performance in the pole vault at 12-10. That was a four-inch improvement on her previous best.
Tyson Adams, a NC State signee and a senior at West Forsyth, went U.S. No. 5 in the long jump a 24-2.75.
Jacob Laney, the senior from Porter Ridge, went U.S. No. 10 in the 3,200m in 9:09.37.
