WATCH: Cuthbertson Girls Run No. 7 All-Time In 4x800m


Virginia Beach, VA -- To kick off the second day of the VA Showcase, the Cuthbertson girls put together a record-breaking performance in the 4x800m relay.

On Saturday morning at the Virginia Beach Sports Center, Alyssa Preisano, Charlotte Bell, Stella Kermes, and Justine Preisano lined up together to make history.

The quartet became the fastest team in the country and moved up to No. 7 all-time in high school history with an 8:57.98 performance. Cuthbertson's performance broke the previous meet record and the North Carolina state record. 

Cuthbertson's splits were: Justine Preisano - 2:15; Bell - 2:16; Kermes - 2:13; and Alyssa Preisano of 2:12. This team joined an elite company as they became the 17th school to break 9-minutes in this event. 

On Friday, Kermes, Alyssa and Bell ran the Invitational mile and finished in the top 14. Kermes finished fifth with a 4:59.48, Alyssa was seventh with a 5:01.31 and Bell finished 14th overall with a 5:08.73 performance.
