In her third 300m race of the season, Madison Whyte of Newport News Heritage (VA) put together a jaw-dropping performance at the Liberty Premier Invitational on Saturday.
In Lynchburg, Whyte clocked a time of 37.17 seconds to become the fourth-fastest girl in high school history. She was just 0.35 seconds off of Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone's national high school record of 36.82.
McLaughlin-Levrone, Shawnti Jackson, and Francena McCorory are the only girls who dipped under 37-seconds in this event.
Looking ahead, Whyte, a University of Southern California signee, will compete in the 55m and 300m this weekend at the VA Showcase.
