The star from Rhode Island left her statement early this indoor season.
Last weekend, the Moses Brown senior clocked her fourth US No. 1 time this season. And this time, it was in the 1,500m. At the RIIL Girls - Week 1 meet, Sophia Gorriaran crossed the finish line at 4:36.38 and she currently leads the country in this event by nearly two seconds.
Throughout the week, Gorriaran earned 64-percent of the votes to be named this year's National Girls Performer Of The Week.

Shawnti Jackson, South Granville (NC): The Arkansas signee left a statement at her indoor season debut at the FIA Holiday Indoor Classic. To bring in the new year, Jackson clocked two US No. 1 performances in the 60m and 400m. She sprinted to a 7.34 and a new personal best in the 400m with a 53.47.
Elise Cooper, McDonogh School (MD): At the Armory HS Holiday Classic, the sophomore sprinted to a 23.74 in the 200m for a US No. 1 performance.
Zariel Macchia, William Floyd (NY): The sophomore clocked a 10:33.22 to win the Ocean Breeze Holiday Festival in the two-mile. This was not only the fastest time of the year so far, but she also became the 26th fastest sophomore in history in this event.
Kaleigh Higgins, Shaker (NY): The Providence College signee clocked a new personal best at the CNY Holiday Classic in the 1,500m. She ran the fastest time of the weekend with a 4:38.75.
Taylor Cox, Union Catholic (NJ): At the Armory HS Holiday Classic, Cox sprinted to a US No. 3 time of 8.01 in the 55mH to take the victory.
Myla Greene, Bullis School (MD): The Tennessee signee won the FIA Holiday Indoor Classic in the 60mH with an 8.65 to be US No. 5.
