Don't look now, but Saratoga Spring has found its (No. 1) form.
We knew it was only a matter of time before the Blue Streaks, the national team cross country champions from 2019, put something remarkable together, and perhaps that time came on Saturday at the Suburban Council Championships.
The girls dropped a perfect 15 points against Bethlehem Central -- the No. 25 ranked team in the country! -- as its first five all went under 18 minutes.
Emily Bush, the star junior, was first in 17:12.88, while senior Sheridan Wheeler was second in 17:20.01, junior Alycia Hart was third in 17:35.14, junior Anya Belisle was fourth in 17:44.23 and senior McKinley Wheeler was fifth in 17:94.91.
The speed ratings put Saratoga Springs at a 138 average, tops in the U.S., and now have the Blue Streaks firmly in national-champion-chasing territory.
