Many of the nation's most notable names and fastest racers at 3-miles come from the senior class.
A glance at the 3-mile rankings lists for the class of 2023, and you'll find MileSplit50-ranked athletes, top state stars and potential national title contenders among those ranked at the top.
Grace Schager (Carol Stream) nearly broke the 16-minute barrier at the Lake Park "Harvey Braus" Invitational in September, but her winning time of 16:00.20 nonetheless ranks as the best performance among the 2023 class so far this fall. Looking down the list, 11 senior girls have gone under 16:30 for 3-miles, including two from the nationally-ranked Arapahoe (CO) squad -- Emily Lamontagne and Ava Mitchell. Lamontagne and Mitchell rank 2-3 among the seniors with 3-mile times of 16:05.40 and 16:11.80, respectively.
