Bishop Chatard senior Lily Cridge didn't just break her own course record on Saturday, a mark she set at the Indiana Brebeuf Jesuit Sectional meet just last year.

She completely obliterated it -- by a whopping 39 seconds.

Fresh off her recent commitment to the University of Oregon and heading into state postseason competition, Cridge clocked 16:46.30 for the win at IHSAA Brebeuf Jesuit Sectionals, more than half a minute faster than the previous Brebeuf Jesuit High School 5k course record of 17:28.90 that she ran in 2021.

And it's not just the top time in the course record books. It's also the fastest time ever ran by a high school girl on Indiana soil.

But Cridge wasn't the only girl to cement place in Indiana history on Saturday. Park Tudor's Sophia Kennedy ran an eight-second 5k PR of 17:10.30 to move up to fifth fastest in Indiana high school history and take second to Cridge at the meet.

Plus, expand the search to the rest of Indiana sectionals action of the weekend to find even more history-making performances.

17:05.00 from Delta's Nicki Southerland at the IHSAA Delta sectional meet bumped her up to third on the state all-time 5k list and earned her the meet win by over two minutes.
