It was an incredible display of high school cross country across the United States this week.
A boys runner residing just north of Pittsburgh, however, took the top spot in the weekly rankings, clocking the weekend's No. 1 time of 14:49.30 at the Carlisle Invitational: His name is Drew Griffith.
Beyond his fantastic effort, we saw superstars take flight -- Hunter Jones, Alexander Garcia-Silver, Connor Burns, Devan Kipyego on the boys side and Hanne Thomsen, Helen Sachs, Sydney Sundgren, Karrie Baloga and Katie Clute on the girls side -- and truly convert on some impressive runs.
Let's not forget those 3-mile times, either. In Texas, Kevin Sanchez battled with David Mora for the top spot, while Allura Markow and Isabel Conde de Frankenberg were tops on the girls side.
