It's been an impressive start for the class of 2025 on the cross country course.
Alyssa Sauro of Williamstown (WV) became one of the first girls in the country to dip under 17-minutes for 5K. She clocked a 16:52 at the end of August to set the tone for the season. Another young talent, Ella Hagen of Summit (CO), not only leads the sophomore class in this distance, but she's also the second-fastest girl heading into the weekend with her 16:45 performance from the Liberty Bell Invitational.
When it comes to the boys side, one boy broke through the 15-minute 5K barrier. That boy is Ty Steorts of Hurricane (WV). He ran a 14:56.40 at the end of August at the Dutch Miller Invitational. However, Benjamin Anderson of Mountain Vista (CO) and Cooper Wasson of Bluegrass United Home School (KY) are just on the cuff of achieving this feat with their 15:00.30 and 15:03.39 performances.
