Analysis: Even though she ran in a handful of cross country races her sophomore season, Conde De Frankenberg had top place finishes against state and national competition.
In one of her first meets against national competition, she finished fourth at the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic behind three seniors who were ranked in the nation: Dalia Frias, Samantha McDonnell and Natalie Cook. Entering this season, she will come back as the top returner.
Amongst her competitors in the state of Texas, at the UIL State Cross Country Championships, she finished third before she finished 25th at the Eastbay South Regional meet.
She continued to dominate throughout the spring season as she defended her UIL 5A Outdoor Track and Field Championship title in the 3,200m while she added a gold medal in the 1,600m and a silver in the 800m to her collection.
During the summer season, she won New Balance Nationals Outdoor in the 800m and was sixth at Brooks PR Invitational in the mile with lifetime bests of 2:05.61 and 4:38.55.
This 2022 cross country season she already clocked a 16:56.62 5K at the FEAST Patriot 20th Annual HS and MS XC Invitational in early September to be the second fastest girl in the nation.
