No. 9: Boise Senior (ID)

Analysis: Behind the dazzling sophomore duo of Allie Bruce and Sammy Smith a season ago, Boise Senior produced just 27 points at the Idaho Class 5A Cross Country Championships, earning another title-crown behind the efforts of a largely balanced-team. 

This year, four runners return from the title-winning squad, including the team's No. 5, Lydia Nance, and its No. 7 runners, Kayla Wiechowski. While Bruce and Smith both are legitimate superstars, with 5K bests under 17:30, the rest of the squad will have to make up the difference in 2022. 

To start 2022, Boise Senior earned a win at the Jimmy Driscoll Invitational and featured three freshmen: Zoe Sims, Audrey Orme and Reese Kindig. 

Biggest Question: Shoring up the gap from the team's No. 1 to No. 5 runner.

This is quite simple. We know Bruce and Smith will produce exceptional results. But if Boise Senior wants to continue making developments, the returning seniors and incoming freshmen will have to continue to drive toward improvement.

If Sims, Orme and Kindig can compete with the four returning seniors and make the starting lineup dynamic, then this team will be an exciting one to watch.
