Analysis: Last year, as a freshman, Cheeseman caught many eyes after her Southern Showcase victory. She also grabbed her first individual state title at the TSSAA State Cross Country Championships where she set a 5K personal best of 17:13.80.
Cheeseman faced national competition at the Eastbay South Regional meet and finished fourth overall, which solidified her spot to compete at the Eastbay Cross Country Championships. At nationals, she finished 31st overall.
She continued to excel during the outdoor season at the Texas Distance Festival with a third place finish, personal best and a US No. 8 time of 16:53.64 for 5K. Cheeseman grabbed a victory in the 1,600m and a second place finish in the 3,200m at the TSSAA Outdoor State Championships.
