Notable Finishes: Second-place finish at the Mayor's Cup; sixth at the Eastbay Northeast Regional meet
Analysis: At one of the most decorated cross country meets in the country, Shea blasted to the scene as a sophomore by running the third-fastest high school girls time at the Boston Mayors Cup Championships at Franklin Field behind Sydney Masciarelli and Shalane Flanagan. She earned a 154 speed rating her for efforts.
The rising star finished sixth at the Eastbay Northeast Regional meet to qualify for nationals but she did not finish the race at Balboa Park.
She turned things right around during the indoor season as she ran the sophomore indoor national class record for two miles at the New Balance Nationals Indoor with a 9:52. At the same meet, Shea won the 5K in a 15:49, which is US No. 6 all-time.
