- - -

School: Ventura (CA)

Year: 2025

Notable Finishes: Cool Breeze Invitational champion; seventh finisher at Woodbridge Cross Country Classic; runner up at the CIF State Cross Country Championships; second at Eastbay West Regional; 15th at Eastbay Cross Country Championships

Analysis: In her first race of the season as a freshman, Engelhardt opened up at the Cool Breeze Evening Invitational where she ran a three-mile personal best of 15:59.90 where she earned a 147 speed rating for her efforts.

Since she was in middle school, Engelhardt has competed against the best in the nation and would run stride-for-stride with her competitors. Her experience guided her throughout the course of the year.

At the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic, she finished seventh and was the top freshman to cross the finish line. When states rolled around, she set a personal best for 5K with a 16:58.70 to finish second behind the two-mile national record holder Dalia Frias

Engelhardt continued with her successful cross country season with a second place finish at the Eastbay West Regional and then finished 15th overall at the championship.

That was only the beginning.

At the New Balance Nationals Indoor, Engelhardt broke Mary Decker's 26-year-old freshman class record in the mile with a 4:37.40 as she crossed the finish line behind Juliette Whittaker

During the spring, she earned her first state title in the 1,600m against an elite field. A few hours later, she finished second in the 800m.

What stood out about Engelhardt's season was she ran five sub 4:40 miles. One of Engelhardt's biggest performances of the year happened to be at the Arcadia Invitational where she ran a 4:35.16. This became the US No. 3 all-time performance behind Katelyn Tuohy and Frias.

Englehardt continued to blossom in the mile as she finished second at Brooks PR Invitational and was the champion at the NSAF Outdoor Nationals in this event.

In her last 3,200m of the season, Engelhardt clocked a 9:50.60 lifetime best at the Ventura County Championships. Once again, she rewrote the record books as she claimed the No. 5 all-time mark.
