2021-22 Notable Finishes: First at the Team Nationals California Regional in a 5k personal best of 14:53.20; Sixth at the CIF DI State Cross Country Championships in 14:59.20; Sixth at the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic in a three-mile PR of 14:09.30. Also ran a US No. 6 8:45.19 for 3,200m to place fourth at the Arcadia Invitational and 4:05.32 for the mile during outdoor.
Analysis: In the ever-competitive distance running community out in California, Clovis senior Christopher Caudillo has made a name for himself -- especially over the course of the last year -- and he will look to continue impressing on the Pacific Coast and beyond this cross country season.
Caudillo is an athlete that has embodied a high school career marked by consistent, continued improvement. Competing in California makes for tough racing when you have athletes from historic programs o contend with, but Caudillo more than held his own against them in 2021. He placed sixth at the Woodbridge Classic in 14:09.30 for three miles, and he also took the win at the Cross Country Team Nationals California Regional in 14:53.20.
During track, the Clovis star also ran a US No. 6 3,200m time of 8:45.15 at Arcadia and 4:05.32 for a top-15 time in the one mile on the season, backing up much of the success he had during the cross country season.
He enters the fall season still chasing after the likes of other top athletes in California. However, he will likely be in the national mix, and expect his typical consistent racing to be on full display during his final high school cross country season.
