Greensboro, North Carolina -- It was a solid day for Nathaniel Samson of Bronx, New York at the AAU Junior Olympic Games. The 12-year-old boy won his fourth AAU gold medal in the 1,500m racewalk in a gutsy race.
For the majority of the race, Josh Fink of Mach 1 Track TC took control at a steady pace.
It came down to the final lap to determine the winner.
Samson slowly inched his way up to the front and surged ahead of Fink with 200m left to go in the hopes of earning his fourth AAU national title.
He earned the victory in the racewalk at 8:18.12, which was the fastest time of the day.
