Similar to Shawnti Jackson, Akala Garrett is preparing for the World U20 Championships in just a few weeks. Garrett made another quick stop to Orlando to get another race underneath her belt in the 400mH.
The Texas commit hurdled to the title and a new AAU Club Championship record with a 58.89. She won this title by nearly two seconds. This was her fourth sub-60-second 400mH race of the season.
The previous record of 59.14 was held by Daeshon Gordon eight years ago.
