AAU Athlete To Watch: Victor Jaimez-Solorio Readies For Gold

WATCH LIVE: THE 2022 AAU JUNIOR OLYMPIC GAMES

BEGINS AIRING JULY 30 - AUG. 6

Pacific Coast Shockwaves' (CA) Victor Jaimez-Solorio has already garnered some of the highest honors in track and field, and he's only in grade school.

He's won six AAU Junior Olympic titles since he began competing at the club level at eight years old, including three straight in the 1,500m.

And many of those wins for Jaimez-Solorio came in record-breaking fashion. The youngster made notable headlines last year at the 2021 AAU Junior Olympic Games where he set a new 10-year-old Boys 1,500m national record of 4:46.84.

What more could we see the young talent from Compton, CA achieve?

2022 could bring a new feat for Jaimez-Solorio to chase after -- accomplishing the elusive distance triple.

Likely looking to win gold in 800m, 1,500m and the 3,000m as well now as a member of the 11-year-old age division, Jaimez-Solorio could challenge new national all-time marks and take home more gold medals.

At the AAU Region 23 Qualifier in June, Jaimez-Solorio looked poised as he clocked new personal bests of 2:21.08 in the 800m and 9:50.18 in the 3,000m. He will likely look to enter the Junior Olympic Games in a couple of weeks prepared to improve on those PRs en route to impressive performances in the distance events.

Will Victor Jaimez-Solorio win the distance triple at AAU JOs?
