In the 50 years since Title IX's advent, opportunities have grown for girls in high school track and field thanks to the pioneering of those before them.
But within the past five years or so, we've seen generational female talents break barriers and push the competition in their respective events to never-before-seen levels, becoming modern trailblazers of sorts in their own right.
Some set national records that set the bar even higher for those after them looking to become the best. Others represented the U.S. on the world's biggest stages, all while still teenagers.
