Alexandra Kelly of Rocky Point (NY) put all the phases together to win the NYSPHSAA Outdoor Championships in the triple jump.
Entering the final jumps of the competition, Kelly was going in second with a 41-09.25 to Tamiah Washington's 41-8.75. The senior was able to make a huge improvement by leaping 42-5 to set a new lifetime best.
Kelly earned 70 percent of the votes and is this week's National Performer Of The Week.
As we conclude the National Performer Of The Week poll for the outdoor season, this week will be the final poll before MileSplit resumes for the cross country season. This poll will end on Friday and winners will be announced next Monday.
National Girls Performer of the Week (6/13-6/19) (Poll Closed)
Myla Greene, Bullis School (MD): It took a US No. 3 performance to win the New Balance Outdoor Nationals title in the 400mH. Greene broke 60 seconds for the first time this season with a 58.27. 68.97% Dalia Frias, Mira Costa (CA): At Brooks PR, Frias broke the national high school 2-mile record with a 9:50.70. She won the title by two-hundredths of a second. 15.8% Angelina Perez, Lakeland Regional (NJ): On Friday, she won the 2-mile New Balance Outdoor Nationals title in 10:03. The following day, she was competing at the New Jersey Meet Of Champions and won a state title in the 3200m. 4.89% JaMeesia Ford, Jack Britt (NC): Ford was busy at the adidas Outdoor Nationals in all the sprints. She won the National Elite title in the 100m with a 11.59. The following day, she won the Championship 400m in 53.42 and then less than a hour later, the junior lined up for the Championship 200m and grabbed the victory with a 23.57. Despite the minimal recovery, she set personal bests in the 200m and 400m this weekend. 4.31% Akala Garrett, Harding University (NC): Garrett was the double 100mH and 400mH champion at NSAF Nationals. She hurdled to victory in the 100mH with a 13.44 performance, winning the title by six-tenths of a second. She then won the 400mH with an astonishing 57.46 to better her No. 1 time in the country. 2.3% Amand Moll, Capital (WA): Moll won the NSAF Nationals with a 14-8 clearance in the pole vault. This was her third performance over 14-6. 1.44% Tessa Mudd, Charleston Collegiate (SC): The Princeton signee won back to back adidas titles this season. Mudd won the adidas Outdoor Nationals title with a lifetime best of 14-3.25 after winning the indoor title. 0.86% Christine Mallard, Mansfield Legacy (TX): In her first 400m since she won the UIL Texas Championship, Mallard clocks a lifetime best at Brooks PR with a 52.12. She takes the top of the nation's leaderboard in this event. 0.86% JaiCieonna Gero-Holt, Emerald Ridge (WA): The freshman won the NSAF Outdoor title with a 5-10.5 clearance in the high jump. 0.57%
