A week after winning the Alabama Class 7A sprint double, Auburn's Charlie Sexton secured National Performer of the Week honors.
The top sprinter from Alabama secured over 474 votes, compiling over 69 percent of the tallies over the five-day stretch, earning the big win.
It came after Sexton, who's also headed to Auburn University in the fall, ran wind-legal personal best times of 10.49 and 20.93 in the 100m and 200m, respectively, managing to win his first two outdoor titles in the events.
A big congrats goes out to Charlie on the honor.
Now let's move on to Week 8 action.
It was a wild slate of state championships across the United States.
We will recognize a winner every week in this poll, with nominations handed out on Monday. The votes will close on Friday and the winner will be announced the following Monday.
