There was something special brewing within Micayah Holland at the end of the indoor season. She became the adidas Track National champion in the 60m and was the runner-up at the Nike Indoor Nationals.
The outdoor season started and she ended her regular season with an undefeated streak in the 100m.
On Thursday, the Montverde Academy (FL) junior put everything together and won her first two state titles at the FHSAA 2A Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
As a result, the nation saw something memorable.
In the 100m finals, Holland produced the nation's fastest performance of the year with an 11.26 (+1.4) and tied for the sixth-fastest time by a junior in history. It was a new Florida state meet record.

Her outdoor 2022 season didn't end with just the 100m victory, though.
Holland lined up in the 200m and produced a solo effort of 23.13 (+1.1) seconds to add another personal best.
The only girl who has run faster than Holland this season is Yahnari Lyons of Jonesboro (GA), who ran 22.99 in March.
Holland produced a couple of sub 24-second wind-legal performances that suggested something big was coming. Her two performances of 23.89 (+0.7) at the FSU Relays and her 23.77 at the FHSAA 2A Region 2 Meet, showcased that progression.
