Keegan Smith deserved this one.
After claiming one of the fastest freshman 3,200m performances in high school history last week at the Eastern Relays, clocking a time of 8:52.96, the Knoxville Catholic (TN) freshman earned the honor of National Performer of the Week.
Smith registered over 53-percent of the vote and roughly 580 tallies en route to the Week 5 win.
A big congrats goes out to Keegan on his win, and to all the other nominees.
Now let's move on to Week 6 action.
From the Penn Relays to the Drake Relays and much more, we had a wild weekend of track and field.
We will recognize a winner every week in this poll, with nominations handed out on Monday. Because we are opening this poll on Tuesday, we will end it on Saturday and the winner will be announced the following Monday.
