In just her third race of the outdoor season, Riley Stewart of Cherry Creek (CO) ran a 4:48.24 at the Pomona Invitational to set a new meet record in the 1600m.
The Stanford signee took the field from the start of the gun and continued to add the pressure throughout the four laps.
By running against the clock, Stewart was able to break Grandview's (CO) Brie Oakley's 4:52.63 from 2017.
Stewart and Oakley are the only two girls who have broken 5 minutes at this meet.
