Through four meets over the spring, the sophomore talent from Texas has been just that, clocking three straight sub-22 performances in the 200m. This weekend at the Klein ISD Relays, he went 10.51 in the 100m and 21.20 seconds in the 200m.
The 200m time ranks at No. 12 for all conditions performances and is No. 2 in the sophomore class.
Wind gauge or not, it was a reminder that Watkins' sprint talent is not some one off fluke. He's been consistently dropping times in the low 21 range since the indoor campaign. He's someone to watch as the postseason rolls around.
