Allie Zealand had a breakthrough moment at the adidas Track Nationals in the championship mile.
The sophomore made a huge push from fourth to first the last 150m of the race to win the title in 4:51.78 to be one of eight girls to break five minutes in this event. She improved on her personal best by nearly nine seconds.
The senior Mary Grace Hegberg finished second with a 4:53.78 while the sophomore Mary Bonner Dalton finished third with a 4:53.97.
