Cade Flatt made a very big entrance on to the national scene this weekend.
The MileSplit50 No. 8 ranked athlete ran the No. 3 fastest 800m indoor time in high school history at New Balance Nationals Indoor, winning in 1:48.86 on Sunday inside the Armory.
And his first quote in his post-race interview pretty much summarizes how he was feeling heading into event this weekend.
"The first 200m I wanted to get out. I wanted to drag these guys into deep waters. I wanted to make it hurt the whole time, make them question why they were in this event. I came out there with bad intentions."
On tactics:
"There were no tactics involved. Just pedal to the medal and get this thing out. I've been walking around all weekend knowing I'm going to come in here and win this thing. There was no reason for anybody to be in front."
