Westerville Central's (OH) Justin Braun clocked the fifth-fastest 60 meter run in high school history on Friday at the OATCCC Indoor State Championships inside the SPIRE, posting a winning time of 6.62 seconds.
It was a resounding victory, and in some ways a complete shock, considering Braun last raced on Jan. 29. But perhaps the time off and training made the biggest difference.
The time knocked off an astounding 0.13 seconds from his previous best of 6.75 from January at The VA Showcase. The new U.S. No. 1 time and Ohio state record only trails national record holder Casey Combest (6.57), Anthony Schwartz (6.59), Micah Williams (6.60) and Cameron Burrell (6.61) all-time.
