It's about time we introduce you to King Combest, the 14-year-old son of high school 60m national record holder Casey Combest.
The eighth-grade athlete from Owensboro, Kentucky, has been scorching the track in recent weeks. On Friday, he clocked the fastest 60m performance of his career at the Eastern Indoors Invitational in Louisville, Kentucky, posting a time of 7.11 seconds.
The performance stands at U.S. No. 1 for the Class 2026 and it's currently No. 11 all-time for an eighth-grade boy. It tied for the No. 279 best time nationally.
Combest also ranks as the sixth-fastest athlete in Kentucky indoors.
He's registered times of 7.08, 7.12, 7.23 and 7.18 across the 2022 indoor season and has plans to finish out the winter season at adidas Indoor Nationals in March.
